The grapes used to produce the champagne can only be harvested on vineyards planted in land with designation of origin Champagne.

Once planted, the vine can live 30 to 50 years. The quality, the quantity qnd the amount of sugar of the grapes depend on the age of the vine.

It is then important to well manage the planting to get an harmonious vineyard in age and variety of vines.

The density of planting in Champagne is around 9000 stocks per hectare.
