The raising and the "palissage" (June - July) |
The raising and the "palissage" allow to make the vineyards growing in a well-ordered way. |
At the end of may, the branch of the vine already reach a lenght of 40 to 50 cm.The operation of raising consists in lifting up the shoots and to maintain them vertically thanks to the raising wire. This enables to avoid the vine to grow in an untidy way and to make the labour easier
The "palissage" takes place in june and consists in separating the branch of each vinestock by a clasp in order to have a more lightened vine. That way, the vines get more sun and there will be less rot. |
